7000 Series End of Life Notice
This is a Solarflare End of Life notice for SFN7002F, SFN7022F, SFN7042Q, SFN7122F, SFN7142Q and SFN7322, dual-port, SFP+ server adapters.
These products are replaced by 8000 Series products.
The following are Solarflare policies and process related to the 7000 Series End of Life and End of Support Life.
1. The End of Sales date for the 7000 Series server adapters is April 30, 2018.
a) The last day to buy a spare product is the End of Sales date.
b) Solarflare announced the End of Life to our reseller channel and customers on or before October 31, 2017.
2. The End of Support date for the 7000 Series server adapters will be April 30, 2021.
a) Solarflare will support the 7000 Series server adapters until the End of Support date.
b) Solarflare support will include providing an updated driver, if required, either via new driver versions or bug fixing old versions.
c) Solarflare will provide updated drivers in the same form as production drivers (e.g. pre-compiled and source) during the support period.
3. Software, firmware, and boot ROM will be supported for the 7000 Series until the End of Support date.
a) Solarflare will continue to support the 7000 Series server adapters operating with maintenance versions of host software (applications, middleware, and drivers), firmware, and boot ROM until End of Support.
b) Solarflare makes no commitments that new software features introduced after the End of Sales date will operate on the 7000 Series server adapters.
c) Operating systems supported by 7000 Series server adapters at End of Sales will continue to be supported to the latest version supported at the End of Sales date, including support of service packs/service updates to those OS versions.
d) Solarflare makes no commitments to support newer versions of supported operating systems or to add support for other operating systems after the End of Sales date.
4. Extended hardware warranties for 7000 Series server adapters will not be sold after the End of Sales date.
a) Solarflare will not sell extended Hardware warranties for products that are no longer sold.
b) The last day to buy an extended warranty will be the End of Sales date.
c) Extended warranties in-force at End of Sales will be honored until their expiration date.
5. Standard hardware warranties will be honored for 7000 Series server adapters.
a) Products purchased through the End of Sales date are covered by a standard 3 year warranty.
b) The last day a valid RMA request will be accepted for a defective 7000 Series server adapter product under standard warranty is April 30, 2021.
c) For RMA requests under standard or extended warranty, Solarflare will replace a failed adapter with the “same” or “newer” model which “matches” or “exceeds” the failed card’s capabilities.
